Energize Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin – Social Prescribing Video Library
1. Project overview
Energize Shropshire Telford & Wrekin wanted to create a practical video library to sit on their website, aimed at people and organisations interested in setting up their own social prescribing offer.
The goal was to answer common questions clearly and accessibly — creating a resource people could dip in and out of, rather than a single long film.
2. What they needed
The videos needed to:
Answer frequently asked questions in a clear, informative way
Feel friendly and unintimidating, even when covering complex topics
Be easy to navigate, so viewers could quickly find what they needed
Hold attention without becoming overly formal or long-winded
For many organisations working in health and wellbeing, this kind of clarity is essential — but not always easy to achieve.
3. Our approach
We designed the shoot specifically around clarity and pace. Using two set-ups with different backdrops, we created visual variety while filming structured question-and-answer discussions between three contributors. A 4K wide camera captured the full conversation, allowing the exchanges to feel natural and collaborative.
To help keep answers focused, we integrated a visible timer into the shoot itself. This gently encouraged concise responses and helped avoid waffle — something that can easily creep into expert discussions.
In post-production, we built on this by adding custom timer graphics and pop-up question titles, giving the videos a light, YouTube-style feel that feels approachable rather than instructional.
Each video was also given its own thumbnail, featuring the contributors and the question being answered, making the library easy to scroll and navigate.
4. The finished library
The result is a clear, engaging set of short videos that feel informative without being overwhelming. The structure helps viewers quickly understand key ideas around social prescribing, while the tone remains friendly and human.
The visual consistency across the series helps it feel like a cohesive resource, rather than a collection of one-off videos.
Here are just a few of the videos we created:
5. How it’s being used
The video library now lives on Energize Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin’s website as a practical resource for organisations exploring social prescribing. It supports learning at different levels — whether someone wants a quick answer to one question or to explore the topic more deeply over time.
For other charities and NGOs, this project shows how breaking information into small, well-designed pieces can make complex work feel more accessible — and how thoughtful planning can turn expert knowledge into something genuinely useful.
