Environmental Leadership Programme Promo
1. Project overview
ELP2 is a joint project between Uprising Leadership and Shropshire Wildlife Trust, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. It’s a programme for 18–25-year-olds in the West Midlands that brings together nature connection, leadership and behaviour change – all with the aim of supporting the next generation of environmental changemakers.
They wanted a video to help promote the programme to future cohorts. Something short, energetic and engaging that would give people a sense of what it’s all about – and encourage them to apply.
2. What they needed
- A fast-paced, engaging promo to help boost applications
- A way to communicate the programme clearly without it feeling too formal
- A social-media-friendly format that felt accessible to younger viewers
3. What we did
We went with a ‘walk and talk’ approach – a dynamic style that felt informal and welcoming. The team leaders spoke directly to camera with a short, tight script, and we jump cut between them to keep the pace moving and the energy high.
It meant we could get across the key messages quickly while still capturing the warmth and enthusiasm of the people behind the project.
4. The final video
The result is a short, lively promo that gives a clear, upbeat intro to ELP2. It’s confident but friendly – designed to appeal to young people who might be curious but unsure. It gives just enough information to hook people in, without overwhelming them.
5. How it’s being used
The video has been shared across social media and the programme’s website, and has helped keep application numbers strong. It’s become a core part of how the team explain what ELP2 is and why it’s worth getting involved.
